I ran into this problem recently namely, it kept doing it after 30 days passed , and while the manual reactivation worked, it wouldn't stick.

Worked with MS support on this, and got the following:. Change the following services from manual to automatic. Office Source Engine Office Software Protection Platform Microsoft Office Services Windows installer Task scheduler 2.

Check for windows updates. Ran an office apps as administrator. Reboot the computer at this step, and take a look at office. At this point, the Unlicensed product should go away.

Don't tell the Webroot IT guys :. I'm getting it in Office for our Office subscription users. A few now - the pilot users, so predicting a flood in a few weeks. It's the "run as administrator" thing I don't like. I need an enterprise solution - I shouldn't have to ask users to do stupid stuff like this. They don't have admin rights, so this doesn't actually help without me visiting them one-by-one. The non-admin user being unable to activate office is a very old problem that is, somewhat inexcusably, still occurring.

Microsoft word 2013 saying unlicensed product free

I have just updated a bunch of Windows 10 machines to the latest version and some machines with Office installed are coming up with an activation warning with ' Non-Commercial Use Unlicensed Product in the top bar of any Office application. It exits with error code 0 so it has worked, but the message will not go away Might be useful for some people, had the same problem outlined above when upgrading to and the following resolved it for me.

No hardware has changed, the update was pushed out via Desktop Central as usual in a staged roll out. The machines I tested on first worked fine, and even my own machine works as normal, it's just others showing this warning. How do I activate the license from within an office app? Just to confirm a couple of things on this, when going to activate office manually it already says the product is activated.

I have tried the license repair tool by Microsoft, still no joy. Looking at descriptions on the title bar message I get on each office app, it thinks we are running a non commercial version of office It is just an office professional plus with a corporate license. Is it possible that due to the number of re-installs in the past and OS upgrades, that the license we bought a number of has reached that limit and now Microsoft are cracking down on it with the latest version of Windows 10?

Is got me stumped, but I'm worried that this has happened on a few machines now and soon office will just cease to work, which won't go down well at work. The message I get when I start any office application suggests that office isn't compatible with the operating system which is a lie.

I tried the troubleshooter steps as per MS's article but ultimately it tries to repair office but fails. On one test machine that had this issue, I uninstalled office and tried to put it back on but the installer doesn't seem to work.

I double click on the setup. Why is office being a pain the ass for? I have had to revert some affected machines back to the old build of Windows using recovery mode which has resolved the issue. But some machines I done more than 10 days ago so I don't have this option.

God I hate Microsoft right now! Why can't this just be fixed from a simple activation again??? Still getting this office error message on machines I just updated to Windows using this feature update. The one machine that this did work on is a more recent re-build so maybe Windows has a problem with applying feature updates over the top with office already installed before it craps out? Seems we had issues after updating some machines to Win10 Office was giving us errors of "Microsoft Office cannot verify the licence for this product.

You should repair the Office program by using Control Panel". While not exactly the same problem, if we try to remove Office, and reinstall it, then we are met with issues trying to install it again. The fix was similar to what Carzy mentioned above. Got the user to restart their machine, and the verification error went away. I didn't need push the permission down to child objects as they looked to be inheriting from the "S" folder anyway, but I guess it likely won't hurt to do that if you want to.

Seems something is removing the Network Service during or after the uprade. Odd, since S user is the Network Service.
